Linda S. Hines is an internationally trained Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Linda is also a Licensed Alcohol and Drug counselor in Oklahoma. In addition to being licensed in Oklahoma, Linda is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Texas. Linda received her Masters of Education in Counseling Psychology from Boston University in 1983. She has worked in mental health and chemical dependency counseling for more than 39 years. (Wow! That makes me old!) She began her counseling career in Augsburg, Germany before moving to Lawton/Ft. Sill. In Lawton/Ft. Sill she served as the family therapist, then as Clinical Supervisor and finally as Director of the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services at an adolescent inpatient facility at Comanche County Memorial Hospital for 13 years.
Linda completed a three year advanced training in Issaquah, Washington to become a Certified Hypnotherapist and is also a Certified Childbirth Educator using hypnosis. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) following the Oklahoma City bombing. EMDR has been found to mitigate Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). She received her certification in Bioenergetics Analysis in Dallas, Texas in 2004. Linda is trained in Resonance Repatterning and Emotional Transformation Therapy, a form of therapy that uses color and light to change brain wave patterns. Linda is a Chopra Center Certified Instructor for Perfect Health - an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Program, Primordial Sound Meditation, and Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga. Linda has been in private practice for twenty-three years.
Linda received the Outstanding Women of Comanche Country award for her community volunteer contributions. She has served on the Lawton / Ft Sill Rape Crisis Team, and as the regional coordinator of Southwest Oklahoma's Critical Incident Stress Management Team (CISM). CISM is a volunteer program designed to mitigate the effects of trauma and to prevent post traumatic stress in emergency service personnel (firefighters, police officers, and EMS workers). Linda is a Certified National Trainer for Critical Incident Stress Management. She has been an adjunct professor for both Oklahoma State University and Cameron University and taught classes in assessment, clinical documentation, and ethics.
Linda has gone on to specialize in healing trauma and in spirituality. She is a trainer for Bioenergetic Analysis, a form of therapy that works with the body and a trainer for PsychoNeuroEnergetics (PNE) that works directly on the nervous system to release trauma. She is a Feminine Embodiment Coach and a Magnetic Mind Coach. Her thirst for knowledge to enhance healing is unbounded.
Linda’s areas of special interest are: anxiety, depression, birth trauma, codependency, self esteem, sexuality and sexual abuse, post trauma stress syndromes, and empowering women. In addition to her private practice, she provides individual and group counseling for sexual abuse victims for the Comanche Nation Domestic Violence Program in Lawton. Linda also provides individual and group instruction in meditation, yoga and wellness.
In 2010 Linda moved her private practice to south Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and has expanded her services to individuals in the Oklahoma City area who want to begin their Healing Journey. She still serves the Lawton/Ft. Sill community.
Linda is happily married to her husband of 52 years, has two grown children, and three grandchildren. Her mission in life now is to train as many individuals and therapists to be transformational healers as she can.
